Description

LEARN HOW TO CREATE COMPOSITE IMAGES USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND PHOTOGRAPHY

This is my second collaboration with Enrico.
We presented last year an online workshop dedicated to landscape photography, and our attendeed loved it.

Creative mind and great artist, Enrico integrated artificial intelligence into the creation of its composite images about 2 years ago.
I started using artificial intelligence more recently.

My idea is to use it as a new tool, allowing me to add fantasy to my images.
As Enrico is on the same wavelength as me when it comes to the possibilities offered by AI, we’re delighted to collaborate on this brand new online workshop.
Enrico will use Midjourney during his session.
I will use Adobe Firefly during my session.

Following is a description of the 2 sessions.

Sessions content
September, 22 nd – David Duchens
In this session, I’ll be presenting images generated by the Adobe Firefly application. Indeed, it’s the only AI application I use to date.
You’ll discover :
the different settings
An overview of the filters used to create different image styles.
I will also demonstrate an image using both AI and Photoshop. The whole process will be explained.

For your information, you will see images generated in several fields, and not only architecture or landscapes.

Session Content
1. Introduction to the World of Composites
Composites are a fascinating realm in the field of digital art and design. They involve the combination of multiple images to create a single, cohesive piece of artwork. This technique is widely used in advertising, film, photography, and graphic design to produce visually compelling and often surreal images. In this course, we will delve into the history and evolution of composite imaging, explore the various tools and techniques used, and understand the creative and technical aspects that make composites so captivating. By the end, you’ll appreciate how composites blend art and technology to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.

2. What is AI?
Expanded Argument : Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a transformative technology that simulates human intelligence processes through machines, especially computer systems. Itencompasses various subfields such as machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. In the context of digital art and design, AI is revolutionizing the way we create and interact with images. We’ll explore the fundamentals of AI text to Image Technology .

3. Introduction to Midjourney
Expanded Argument: Midjourney is an innovative platform that harnesses AI to assist artists and designers in generating creative content. It offers a suite of tools for ideation, visualization, and design enhancement, making it easier to bring complex concepts to life. In this segment, we’ll introduce you to Midjourney’s features, navigation, and practical uses. You’ll learn how to integrate Midjourney into your workflow, utilizing its AI-driven suggestions and automation capabilities to streamline your creative process and enhance the quality of your work.

4. How to Build a Prompt
Expanded Argument: Building effective prompts is crucial for guiding AI tools to produce the desired outputs. Prompts act as instructions that tell the AI what kind of content or image you want to create. We’ll cover the art and science of crafting precise and informative prompts, including best practices, common pitfalls, and tips for refining your inputs. By mastering prompt construction, you’ll be able to communicate your creative vision more effectively to AI tools, ensuring better results and greater control over the final product.

5. Practical Examples
Seeing theory in action is essential for understanding and inspiration. This section will present practical examples of composite images created using AI and traditional tools. We’ll analyze various projects, dissecting the techniques and processes involved. These examples will highlight different styles, approaches, and challenges, providing you with a diverse perspective on composite creation. Through these case studies, you’ll gain insights into real-world applications and the creative problem-solving required to achieve stunning results.

6. Prepare an Image to be Blended in Photoshop
Preparing images for blending is a foundational skill in composite creation. In this part of the course, you’ll learn how to select and prepare images for seamless integration. We’ll cover techniques such as masking, layering, color correction, and alignment to ensure your images blend naturally. You’ll also learn how to use Photoshop tools like the pen tool, clone stamp, and adjustment layers to refine your composites. By mastering these preparation steps, you’ll set a solid groundwork for creating polished and professional composites.

7. Introduction to How to Use AI to Create Composite Images
AI is a powerful ally in the creation of composite images, offering tools that can simplify and enhance the process. We’ll introduce you to various AI-driven software and techniques that can assist in image blending, object removal, background replacement, and more. You’ll learn how to integrate AI tools with traditional methods to optimize your workflow. This section will provide hands-on experience with AI applications, showing you how to leverage AI to push the boundaries of your creativity and efficiency in composite image creation.

8. Creation of a Basic Composite with Photographs and AI
Combining photographs with AI-generated elements can yield remarkable composites. In this practical module, you will undertake a project to create a basic composite image. We’ll guide you through the entire process, from conceptualization and planning to execution and final touches. You’ll apply the skills and techniques learned in previous sections, using both AI tools and Photoshop. By completing this project, you’ll not only reinforce your understanding but also build confidence in your ability to create compelling composite images independently.

Questions / Answers :
During the different stages of the 2 workshops, questions may be asked.
Also, 15/30 minutes will be devoted at the end of the workshop for a question and answer session.

How the workshop works :
This workshop is delivered online (via the Internet), and live. The ZOOM video conferencing application will be used. The connection is established in a few clicks. You do not need to create an account or subscribe to Zoom to participate in the workshop. An invitation link will be sent to you by e-mail before each session. You will then simply be asked to download the application, in order to get the user interface. It is very easy to learn. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Video recording :
This workshop is accompanied by a video for each session.
It is recorded live during the workshop.
The video will be sent to you in MP4 format, via WeTransfer, after each session.
